Performance
The new Toyota Tacoma keeps things simple in the performance realm by offering up two engine options: a 2.7-liter inline-4 and a 3.5-liter V6. The base 2.7-liter inline-4 engine comes standard with the new Tacoma, with up to 159 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque This base engine works with a 6-speed automatic transmission and makes rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive options. The more powerful 3.5-liter V6 engine makes even more powerful available, boasting 278 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque. This engine also makes rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive available while pairing with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Engine options stop with the 3.6-liter V6 engine, however, if you're looking for additional performance features, then there's plenty to consider. The Trail Edition of the Tacoma adds in a raised suspension, underbody protection, and all-terrain tires. The TRD Pro trim gains FOX shock absorbers, TRD springs, an all-terrain response system, crawl control, and multi-terrain monitor.
